Office and business moves in Slough
Slough has one of the largest industrial estates in single ownership anywhere in Europe on its doorstep, and a corridor of office buildings along Bath Road behind it. Commercial moves here are a substantial part of the work, and they are planned around a lease and a site rather than around a household.
The good news for anybody moving a business here: access on the estate is genuinely good. The constraints are contractual, not physical.
What a commercial move involves
The site decides the schedule
On the Trading Estate the physical access is rarely the issue — it is an industrial site built for lorries. What decides the plan is the paperwork around it: what hours the site permits, what security needs arranging, what the lease says about the handover date, and who signs off the condition of the unit.
Along Bath Road and in the town-centre offices it is the more familiar set: which lift can be booked, for how long, whether it needs protecting, and where a vehicle can stand.
Either way we survey those questions first and build the schedule backwards from them. Quoting a commercial move off a floor area alone is meaningless — two identical floors in two different buildings are two different jobs.
Keeping the business trading
Most commercial moves here run Friday evening into the weekend so that Monday works. That only holds if the destination is genuinely ready: floor plan agreed, positions marked, power and data where they are supposed to be.
Where the new space is not ready, the honest answer is to move in stages or hold part of it, rather than deliver into a building site and shuffle things twice. We would rather say that at survey than be blamed for it later.
Stock, records and confidentiality
Client files, HR records and anything carrying personal data move on a numbered, sealed inventory, so there is an auditable record of what went where and when. For a lot of businesses that is the part that matters most, and it is worth raising at survey so it is documented rather than assumed.
Retail and warehouse stock is handled the same way, with a list that lets you reconcile afterwards instead of taking it on trust.
What we do not do
We do not reconnect servers, configure networks or certify electrical work. We carry, place and protect; your IT and facilities people do the rest. Firms that claim the whole lot are usually vague about which part they are actually insured for.
We also will not promise a Monday start in a building we have not surveyed. If the lift booking falls through, goodwill does not move furniture.

Questions about office and trading estate moves
- 01
Can you move our unit at the weekend?
Yes, where the site and the lease allow it — that is one of the first things the building survey establishes.
- 02
Do you provide crates?
Reusable crates delivered ahead and collected afterwards. They pack faster than cartons, stack on trolleys, and leave you with no cardboard to get rid of.
- 03
Who packs the desks?
Usually staff pack their own crate, which works well if they get the crates early and clear instructions. We can pack instead — it is a line on the quote either way.
- 04
Will you handle the servers?
We disconnect, carry and place hardware. Reconnection and configuration stay with your IT provider. We are explicit about that boundary.
- 05
Can you store furniture we are not taking?
Yes, on the same listed basis. Most office moves shed furniture, and holding it while you decide whether to sell or dispose of it is straightforward.
